CORE EXCHANGE INFORMATION
After you purchase a cylinder from Eckhoffs we will send a yellow core tag out with your replacement cylinder. It is a 2 part tag and we keep the 2nd part here with your order. When you receive your new cylinder you will need to make sure all parts from your old cylinder (head bolts, intake/exhaust studs, breather tubes, etc.) are removed, you will need to put these on your new cylinder. Once completed attach the yellow core tag and ship it back to Eckhoffs to receive your core refund. There are some things that can cause you not to receive a Refund: sending back the wrong cylinder# (although in some cases this is ok if you check with us first) or the cylinder you are sending has broken skirts, has been over bored, has been ported, top surface has been shaved or there is a hole into the water jacket, these are some things that will cause a non-refund!
Call or email us if you have any question on this.
INSTALLING YOUR NEW CYLINDER FIRST AND FOREMOST make sure what caused your cylinder to go down the first time has been fixed. A new cylinder will not fix a bad oil pump, will not fix a leaky crank seal, will not fix a cracked intake boot, will not fix bad gas, will not fix a dirty carb or electrical problems. Before installing make sure the cylinder is washed in hot soapy water and all stud holes have been blown clean. Lightly oil cylinder wall before assembly, AND MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT INSTALL YOUR PISTONS IN BACKWARDS! It won't run for more than a few minutes if you do.
Thank you for your Business.
